Itinerary
- Welcome to Nepal. One of our team members will meet you when you arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport, holding a nameplate, and drive you safely and soundly to the accommodation.
- Today is your first day in Nepal. You might wander the streets of Kathmandu Valley and local food exposure if you have time to do.
- Today, your passport and required identification documents will be collected by our representative for the permit authorization and visit to the Department of Tourism. Your permit for a trekking and climbing expedition for Himlung Himal will be done by us.
- You will rest for today or enjoy different palaces, monuments, and sites according to your requirements.
- After the expedition permit is authorized by the Department of Tourism, you will be given the briefing class about the overall expedition towards Mount Himlung Climbing. You will be notified about every bit of information regarding the expedition.
- After the morning breakfast, you will head towards Besisahar (Alt. 760 meters) which is renowned for its varied landscapes, breathtaking vistas of snow-capped mountains, and absorption into the indigenous culture of the region. It is 175 kilometers away and takes six to seven hours to drive from Kathmandu.
- Passing through the route by the diversity of the natural and cultural worlds, and continuing your drive farther downstream with the Trishuli River running on the side, you'll be traveling west via the Prithvi Highway. You will also see glimpses of little settlements of Malekhu and Muglin on the route toward Besisahar.
- Today, your destination will be the Meta (Alt. 3560 meters) trek which takes about 7-8 hours of rigged ascend. This fifth day is the starting day of your trekking journey expedition.
- After obtaining the authorization at the Police Check Post on this day, you will be allowed to access a restricted region of the Nar Phu Valleys. You'll trek towards Dharmasala past Soti Khola, the pine and rhododendron woodland, and lovely waterfalls. From here, the track ascends significantly as you proceed through overgrown scenery and along confined twisting routes until you reach the town of Meta.
- Overnight in Meta.
- You will begin your other day's hike into Kyang village shortly before sunrise in the morning while enjoying an incredible view of Pisang Peak (6,091 m). This trek will last for 4 hours to reach the stop which is 1840 meters above sea level.
- Passing through two rivers, including Murju Khola, you will make your way toward the settlement of Chyakhu by way of Jhunum. From here, an extended slope and shortens are crossed on the trail that takes you to Kyang village.
- Overnight in Kyang village.
- You will be ready to trek about 3-4 hours of rigged forest route towards the rural destination named Phu which is 3900 meters above sea level.
- You will enter the expansive blue forest of pine and get an amazing view of both the snow-capped Annapurna I (8,091m) and Annapurna IV (7,525m) peaks after passing through Kyang and Phu Khola. You can stop at any of the nearby monasteries on the way onward.
- A magnificent view of Himlung Himal can be seen as you approach Phu Gaon. A tiny medieval village called Phu has a distinctive culture and heritage.
- Overnight at Phu Gaon.
- You'll be walking today in the direction of Himlung Base Camp (Alt. 4900 meters above Sea level) spending a total time of 4-5 hours of the trail which continues over snow-covered terraces and extensive glaciers, passing through lovely mountain scenery and yak farms.
- You'll turn off the path leading to Ratna Chuli Base Camp and take a step up the ridge before arriving at the base camp, where you'll pitch your tents.
- Stay the night at Himlung Base Camp.
- After the completion of your Himalaya Expedition of Mount Himlung, you will return to Phu Gaon through the same route of 5-6 hours of descending along with the magnificent views of Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, and other high hills ranges, and the Himalayan Forest.
- The journey from Himlung Base Camp to Phu Gaun involves navigating numerous high hills, rivers, and traditional villages while traveling through the stunning Nar Phu Valley. As you approach Phu Gaun, the trail may take you through areas with rocky landscapes, confined valleys, and even some ascents, but overall, you'll be descending to lower altitudes.
- Overnight at Phu Gaun.
- In this Today’s morning, you are going to descend towards Kyang via Phu Khola, enjoying a stunning vista of Himlung Himal. You will pass by short and lengthy distances as you continue walking altogether of 6-7 hours.
- You will finally arrive at the point of your trip, from which you can see Annapurna II (7,937m), Pisang Peak (6,091m), and Lamjung Himal (6,983m), after passing through the community of Chyakhu and then Murju Khola.
- Overnight at Meta Village.
- After the morning breakfast, the journey from Meta continues northward to Koto, which is located at an elevation of around 2,600 meters. The excursion features hiking through the Manang district's stunning and diverse cultural surroundings.
- When you arrive in Dharamsala, you will continue walking down with Soti Khola, passing additional suspension crossings and rhododendron and pine forests, wildlife, and lush greenery.
- After passing through Nar Khola, you will finally descend to Koto after 7-8 hours of long descent and your overnight will be spent there in Koto.
- On this day, you'll say goodbye to the Himalayas as you drive six to seven hours from Besisahar to Kathmandu.
- The journey will take you along the Trishuli River, passing through the settlements of Mugling and Malekhu, with beautiful vistas of mountains and hills along the Prithvi Highway.
